RESEARCH OVERVIEW

My research grows out of a strong focus on specific geographic settings both in East Asia and South-eastern Europe. Tokyo has provided the context for much of my research, but I have also worked in Taipei and am currently involved in research projects in Belgrade and Trieste. My work can be grouped into four strands: East Asian cities, urban change in South-eastern Europe, conceptualising the urban, and river landscapes.
